Stev Bringmann, Germany
Lecturer, Organizer and Host of the Participant Project
During his study of architecture at the Bauhaus University Weimar Stev Bringmann started to focus on tensile membrane structures and slender compressed shell structures. His first Job in 2001 at SL Sonderkonstruktions- und Leichtbau GmbH (Bodo Rasch and Jürgen Bradatsch) was a major step in gaining knowledge in the field of textile architecture. After a research project at the Hochschule Nürtingen regarding self developing lightweight structure he worked for Architen Landrell – a major tensile architecture main contractor in the UK. In 2009 Stev Bringmann started his own company 3dtex GmbH in Berlin. First as a pure planning office 3dtex became shortly after a main contractor for tensile architecture, delivering planning and execution of membrane structures from one hand. The projects vary in size, used materials and purposes. Stev Bringmann is involved in several research projects aiming to widen the application of tensioned textiles in building industry.
