Ruy Marcelo de Oliveira Pauletti, Civil Engineer, D.Sc., Hab. Associate Professor at the Polytechnic School at the University of São Paulo (EPUSP). Civil Engineer by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1983) and the University of Padua, Italy (1986). Specialist in Plasma and Thermonuclear Fusion Engineering (University of Padua, 1986); Doctor of Sciences in Civil Engineering (EPUSP, 1994). Habilitation in Theory of Structures (EPUSP, 2003). Professor at the Graduate Programs on Structural Engineering and Architecture and Urban Studies of the University of São Paulo. Chairman of the ‘1st Latin-American Symposium on Tension Structures (São Paulo, 2002) and of the ‘IASS-SLTE 2014 –International Association for Shell and Space Structures 2014 Symposium / 6th Latin-American Symposium of Tension Structures’, held in Brasilia. Member of the Scientific Committees of several Symposia of IASS and other conferences on light structures and membranes. Member of the Editorial Boards of Journal of the IASS and of the International Journal of Space Structures.
