Building Tensile structures since 1979: 1996 Structures Built Up to Now!

Frei Otto and Fiedler became friends after 3 years of letters sent from Brazil, where Nelson Fiedler sought to learn from his aspirational mentor. Otto finds in Fiedler a young engineer with a strong mind for a great future. Ahead of these days, as can be seen in the photos, a great cooperation was formed.

Intermediated by Nelson Fiedler, the meeting between Frei Otto and Oscar Niemayer where they could talk about the lightness of tension structures and shells in reinforced concrete. many aspects of life were treated as music, urbanism and love.

Nelson Fiedler was impressed by the amount of knowledge exchanged on this day and by the similarity in the design lines of the two famous and ingenious architects.
