Dirk P. Emmer is a well known professional and consultant in the international architectural membrane market. As Construction Technician and Quality Manager he started his career in this field 1997 market with the Pilgrims Accommodation Project in Mecca, Saudi Arabia – still known as the largest and the membrane market changing project. During this time dived in deeply in the process and development of coated membranes with KOCH Hightex and started his training as confection specialist.

After a half year interruption in the Chemical Industry in 2000 and completing his studies as MBA he began as Operations Manager with Skyspan and responsible for several projects in all membrane fields. Projects like Main Railway Station Dresden, Guangzhou Airport and the Commerzbank Arena Frankfurt are well known. After closing the company in 2006 he founded his company SCC Applications. Since then and up to now he works as specialist and consultant in all kinds of architectural (and industrial) membranes.

In 2007 he became member of the Vector Foiltec Group as Sales and Project Manager. Here he was responsible for Sales, Project Development and Project Management for projects like Sentosa Marina Life Park, Bus Station Aarau, Athens Heart and Sochi Olympique Stadium – not only ETFE but also as the group’s fabrics specialist.

In 2014 he joined the Bavarian company Temme // Obermeier where he is still General Manager and Head of Sales & Project Development. Bringing that company to success together with the management partners was now a goal.

This led to a wide spectrum of outstanding projects in all aspects of membrane claddings. He developed such like Mall of Switzerland in Lucern, Theatre in Meppen, Galerija Belgrade Waterfront, Cable car Olang – and at least the biggest one chamber ETFE cushion on world – the Rynek Lazarski in Poznan. 

As specialist he’s still supporting universities, clients, and courts to find the right way of membrane construction.
