Claudia Lüling is architect and professor at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (FRA-AUS) in Frankfurt / Main for design and spatial arts and founding member of the FFin (Frankfurter Forschungsinstitut). She started her academic career at Technical University Berlin, followed by a guest professorship at Berlin University of the Arts 2002. Since then she has done intensive research work on materials, that either gain or save energy so as semi-conducter materials (photovoltaics) and lightweight construction with a focus on textile based design. The research work is supported among others by the Bundesinstitut für Bau-, Stadt- und Raumforschung (BBSR) and is integrated into the curriculum of FRA-UAS. Research related student projects have won numerous prizes over the past years, e.g. Stuttgarter Leichtbaupreis 2014, TechTex Award 2015, materialPREIS 2017, Competitionline Campus Award 2016, AED Neuland Award 2017, Competitionline Campus Award 2018 and were nominated for „Moderner Aus- und Leichtbau“ 2018. Her own architectural office is located in Berlin with a focus on public bulidings as well as housing and industrial bulidings.
